Ola has announced its preparation to introduce a substitute for Google Maps. The company, which is involved in providing transportation services and electric vehicles, has verified that it is constructing a custom mapping system for its vehicles.

Ola is creating a competitor to Google Maps.
Currently, Ola cabs are employing Google Maps for navigation. In a tweet, CEO and founder Bhavish Aggarwal announced that they will be launching their own Ola maps in two months. He posted, “Testing our own Ola Maps! Will be live in the Ola app and our vehicles in a couple of months!”

According to Ol,a’s CEO, the company is creating an application programming interface (API) which will allow other developers to integrate Ol,a Maps into their own applications and vehicles. Aggarwal also stated, “We will also be providing a development API for those who wish to use India’s top-notch maps in their apps.”

Currently, there is not much information on Ol,a Maps. It is anticipated, though, that the company may take advantage of the NavIC system developed by the government to develop its mapping service.
Ola plans to enter the premium electric vehicle market.
Ola recently declared their intention to launch 10,000 cars into the high-end electric vehicle sector. The Times of India was told by the company that its high-end fleet will be operated by the most highly rated drivers, plus will offer 100% ride assurance after allocating the cab, no cancellations, and completely cashless payments.
