Before covid-19, there was a 50% discount on railway tickets for women above 58 years and 40% for men above 60 years. But when covid hits our economy, the Indian railways took that thing away from senior citizens to recover losses.

On 20th July, the railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw denied bringing that rule back and ended it forever. He said the Indian railway was facing losses for so many years because of this rule.
