The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) releases a list of state-specific bank holidays every year. This month banks will be closed on these dates:

  • March 7 – Chapchar Kut (Mizoram) – All banks will be closed in Mizoram on this day.
  • March 13 – Holika Dahan, Attukal Pongala – Banks will be closed in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Kerala on this day.

State-Wise Bank Closures in March 2025

  • March 14 – Holi, Dhulandi, Dol Jatra (Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, New Delhi, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Srinagar)

March 15 – Holi, Yaosang (Tripura, Odisha, Manipur, Bihar)

March 22 – Bihar Day (Bihar)

March 27 – Shab-e-Qadr (Jammu & Srinagar)

March 28 – Juma-tul-Vida (Jammu & Srinagar)

No Eid Holiday for Banks – RBI’s Financial Year-End Decision

However, RBI has canceled the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday on March 31, 2025 and directed all banks to continue working on this day. Actually, March 31 is the last day of the financial year 2024-25. Therefore, RBI wants that all government transactions can be completed smoothly. For this reason, the central bank has issued an order that all banks should remain open on that day.

What Services Will Be Available During Bank Holidays?

Even though banks will remain closed during these holidays, customers need not panic. During this time, ATM, mobile banking and internet banking services will be available continuously.
