The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) is regulated by the Indian constitution and is responsible for the welfare and management of children in India. The organization has condemned the decision of allowing adoption by same-sex couples.

The hot debate is still underway and the decision is still to be made. Child safety seeks a proclamation that reveals that a child adopted by a same-sex couple is affected both socially and physiologically.

The commission claims that the Hindu Marriage Act and the Juvenile Justice Act do not acknowledge adoption by same-sex couples and is asking the top court to get involved in a number of petitions.

According to the petition, children of same-sex parents might not be exposed to many traditional gender role models, which would limit their exposure and hinder the development of their entire personality.

The petition cited research on adoption by same-sex parents, claiming that it demonstrated how such a child is impacted socially and psychologically. According to the petition, allowing same-sex couples to adopt is equivalent to putting the kids in danger.

According to the petition, children of same-sex parents have twice as many emotional and developmental issues as children of opposite-sex parents. This claim is supported by a study done by the Catholic University of America.

Beginning on Tuesday, the batch of petitions requesting legal recognition of same-sex weddings in the nation will be heard by a five-judge Constitution bench of the country’s top court.

The petitions that were referred to a larger bench for an authoritative ruling on March 13 by the CJI-led bench will be heard on April 18 by a bench consisting of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices S K Kaul, S Ravindra Bhat, P S Narasimha, and Hima Kohli, who said it is a very pivotal issue.

Whereas the general public and political parties have opposing viewpoints on the matter, the hearing and its eventual conclusion will have a huge impact on the nation.
