Virat Kohli can never escape controversies; the Indian Cricket team captain is facing discrimination allegations against LGBTQIA+ people. LGBTQIA+ group Yes We Exist India has claimed that Virat Kohli’s restaurant chain, One8 Commune does not give entry to people falling in this category in its restaurant.
The group has posted the same on Instagram on its official page with a poster of Virat titled “ No Entry for LGBTQIA + Guests at Kohli’s Restaurant.” Here is the full post.

The name of Zomato also got involved in the controversy for listing such restaurants. The post asks food delivery platforms to stop doing business with such restaurants as they only care for money.

It did not end there, as the controversy over Virat Kohli’s restaurant has caused a spark among fans who are now calling this move as pathetic and disheartening.

LGBTQIA+ group Yes, We Exist has accused Virat Kohli’s restaurant chain, one8 Commune, of discrimination, saying its Pune branch confirmed it does not allow entry to “gay couples or a group of gay men”. one8 Commune Pune branch said, “We’ve restriction on stag entry which means pic.twitter.com/briTMC1lRY

One8 Commune Denies Allegations By Yes We Exist India
One8 Commune Pune Branch’s manager Amit Joshi has opened up about the entire matter and disclosed the restaurant’s policy. He says we don’t discriminate against anyone and people of all gender are allowed. He also said that “We have restriction on stag entry which means individual boys are not allowed within the premises,” as quoted by Indian Express.
Explaining the reason for the restriction, Joshi said this is for the safety of female guests inside the restaurant. When the Delhi branch of One8 Commune was asked about the same issue, the reply was the same “We never say no to our guests.”
