France’s President Emmanuel Macron has made a gambling decision which has turned out as the reason for violence in France. The country is suffering from widespread violent activities.

Violence in France rose after Emmanuel Macron reformed France’s pension schemes. This led to a surge of aggression from the people of the country that repelled to go with the new rules.

New Rule That Caused Violence in France

France’s President unexpectedly become president for the second time last year and nine months later he made a decision that has caused violence in France. Emmanuel has reformed the pension scheme of the country under which he increased the age limit of retirement. He increased the age of retirement from 62 to 64 under the new regime.

The government knew it won’t be easy to implement the rule so it provided an increment of $107 for the minimum state pension. Emmanuel believes that this would help the country in increasing productivity and thus lead to better economic growth.

New Rule Led to Protests and Violence in France 

Despite Emmanuel’s concern about raising the country’s economy, the new rule turned out to be a menace. People got furious over the new rule of increase in the age limit of retirement and initiated a war against the government.

Recently, over 457 people were arrested and over 441 security personnel got injured taking part in defense of the protests. According to Unions, over 3.5 million people were indulged in the protest on Thursday. The increasing violence in France doesn’t seem to calm anytime soon.

King Charles’s Visit to France Postponed 

King Charles from the United Kingdom was about to visit to France next week. However, the meeting was postponed and the plan for his visit was suspended amid violence in France.

The official residence of the President of France informed via their statement that the meeting has been postponed and will be rescheduled as soon as possible. Later, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson also stated “Their Majesties greatly look forward to the opportunity to visit France as soon as dates can be found.”
