Lockdown

The coronavirus wave in the country has hit us very badly. The stare has already crossed 100 marks and that is why the decision was very crucial. The total number of cases in India has lost 206 people due to coronavirus and therefore lockdown should be imposed and followed very seriously.

The Punjab state is the second state in India to extend the lockdown till 1 May.

In a press statement the statement said:

“The decision was taken at a meeting of the council of ministers, chaired by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, to check community spread of the coronavirus pandemic and to prevent overcrowding at the Mandis in the light of the ensuing wheat harvesting/procurement season,”

The CM of Punjab Amrinder Singh will communicate about his decision to PM Modi in the virtual conference meet on Saturday.

A statement said:

“Citing the grim projections about the spread of the pandemic in the coming weeks, the Chief Minister said the curfew restrictions were essential so that the medical infrastructure is not burdened beyond its capabilities. There was general consensus in the medical community that the lockdown curbs would only delay the spread of the disease, he said, hoping that some medication/cure would be found soon,”

The first state was Odisha who announced yesterday to extend the lockdown period.
