Watch: This temple devotees offer live crabs to Lord Shiva

Fruits, milk, flowers or coconuts are among famous offerings made by a devotee to offer deities at Hindu temples. But, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva situated in the Gujrat City of Surat, the devotees have found a unique way to pay their tributes with crabs.

Going on with an age-traditional tradition, believers flock to the Ramnath Shiv Ghela temple on the purpose of Makar Sankranti in  January with live crabs.

Tracing the ritual presenting crabs to the epic Manojgiri Goswami, Ramayana,  priest of the temple said, “Lord Ram had established this temple and blessed it saying whoever offers crabs in this temple on the day of Ekadashi will get their wishes fulfilled.”

Ever since believers have trusted that doing sofulfillfulfil all their hopes and also assure their well being.

“I have heard that whoever offers crabs at this temple, all their health-related problems are solved. I have been afflicted with an ailment and I have come here to pray and get rid of the problem,” said Heeral Chabuwala, a devotee who visited the temple with crabs as offerings.
