As it is a known fact that the coming RDE norms are going to spell downfall for various cars in the market. Skoda Octavia is one of those cars which is hit by the downfall.

Skoda is not seeking to update the 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine to meet the RDE norms. This is the engine that backs the Octavia and this clearly indicates that the Octavia will no longer be on road from April. 

Let me tell you, April is the month when RDE norms will be kicked in. So, people are jamming in to purchase the Octavia before getting discontinued. 

High waiting list

As I have mentioned earlier that people are seeking to purchase the last few pieces of the Octavia which are resulting in a high waiting list. As Octavia enters through the CKD route in India, Skoda does not have many parts of the Octavia in the country. This thing is another reason for the high waiting list for the car.

The Skoda Octavia is the last car of its series that is on sale now. All other competitors such as Honda Civic, Volkswagen Jetta, and Toyota Corolla Altis have been off-road by the brands. So, people who want to have a luxurious sedan at a good price has only the Octavia left as an option.
