Global Buddhism Summit 2023: On April 20th & 21st, our country’s PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first Global Buddhist Summit in New Delhi. The Ministry of Culture collaborates with International Buddhist Confederation to organize this summit. The theme of the summit is Responses to contemporary challenges: Philosophy to Praxis.

The Subject of the Summit(Narendra Modi)
AIR reports that the vision of this summit is to look into the Teachings of the Shakyamuni Buddha that have been continuously enriched over the centuries with the practice of Buddha Dhamma. At this summit, 30 Delegates come from other countries, around 171 Delegates from Foreign countries & 150 Delegates from Indian Buddhist Organisations.
Not only the delegates but some Eminent Scholars, Sangha leaders, & Dharma practitioners also from all over the world come to attend the Conference. For the first time, prominent Buddhist monks from all over the world take part in this summit.
Aim of the Summit
This global summit is also the medium to enhance the cultural and diplomatic relationships with other countries & mark the significance and the importance of India in Buddhism, as Buddhism was born in India. The summit’s goal is to explore Buddhist teachings and practices in order to find solutions to issues like climate change, poverty, & conflicts among others.
