A model and software engineer from Mexico, Andrea Meza became the 69th Miss Universe. The final event of Miss Universe 2020 held in Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Hotel where 73 contestants participated for the title. However, the show held differently due to pandemic.

1. Effect Of Pandemic On Miss Universe Pageant
For the first time, the event held in a different way where contestants were seen wearing black masks.
2. Miss Myanmar Plead For People of Myanmar
Another highlight of Miss Universe 2021 was Miss Myanmar whose costume won everyone’s heart. She also made headlines by speaking up against the military and conditions of the Myanmar people.

During the costume round, she appeared on the stage holding a banner “Pray for Myanmar” taking the issues on a global platform.

4. Former Miss Universe Stole the Limelight
Zozi Tunzi who won the 2019 Miss Universe crown stole the limelight with her gorgeous smile and facial expression while crowing Andrea.

5. Evening Gown Of Miss Philippines
However, Miss Philippines didn’t reach to the finale but her evening gown made headlines. The orange gown designed by a Dubai-based designer was inspired by a mythical bird Sarimanok.

Andrea Meza
This was a historical moment for Andrea when Zozobini Tunzi from South Africa crowned her. She is the third woman from her country to hold the title. Miss Universe 2020 winner Andrea is receiving warm wishes around the world. Pia Alonzo who won the Miss Universe crown in 2015 congratulated Andrea and send wishes for her new journey.

Miss Brazil Julia Gama
The Brazilian model became the first-runner up.
Janick Maceta del Castillo
The 27-year old Social activist, music producer, and audio engineer by profession became the second-runner up. She is also the winner of the Miss Peru pageant.
Adeline Castelino
The 22-year old model from India is also a Miss Diva Universe 2020. The Kuwait-born model originally hails from Karnataka and is a BA graduate.
Miss India, Adeline Castelino was one of the strongest contenders for the crown of Miss Universe.

However, she got the position of third-runner up. In the Q&A round, Judges asked Aldine about her views on the present situation due to pandemics.
“Should countries lockdown despite it affects the economy or should risk the countries?”

Miss Dominican Republic
Kimberly Jimenez, the 23-year old actor, and model, who got the third position in Miss Universe Puerto Rico, secured the last position in the contest.
Pandemic and the current situation of many countries have truly impacted the Miss Universe event but it didn’t stop the contestants to compete for their dream. Miss Universe 2020 Winner Andrea is now all set for her new journey.
