Male Celebs Breaking Gender-Based Fashion Barriers

The world is changing and so as the fashion industry. More and more female celebs are introducing menswear in our wardrobes but the opposite is not true. Even though many celebs have been seen in female attires in the movies, embracing the same outside the big screen is not much popular. However, few celebs both from Bollywood and Hollywood have already mark the beginning of gender neutrality in men’s fashion.

Here is a list of celebs re-defining masculinity and breaking the gender-based fashion barriers.

His views are not something that every man believes so it’s hard to imagine that the world would ever adopt the idea of gender-fluidity without judging a man from their clothes.

Actor Billy Porter

American Actor and Singer, Billy Porter has always discussed about the men’s fashion. He said, “What is masculinity? What does that mean? Women show up every day in pants, but the minute a man wears a dress, the seas part.”

He further added, wearing women’s pieces will raise the question on their gender identity and thus many actors are afraid to experiment with clothes and stick to the status quo set by the society.

Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh is a style icon of Bollywood who is known for his quirky fashion sense. During the GQ Magazine red carpet event, Ranveer stunned everyone with his outfit selection. He opted for a blue skirt with big buttons and blue belt.

Ranveer was once seen in a nathni (nose ring) as well. It was for the Magazine cover of L’Officiel. “Dream Girl” actor Ayushman Khurana was also spotted with nose ring during the Grazia Young Awards in 2016.

Celebs like Jonathan Van Ness, Yung Thung, and other male celebs neutralizing the gender-based fashion barriers, it seems that maybe in near future we’ll see more men embracing clothes beyond the classic black tuxedoes. And not even clothes, even polishing nails and makeup is gradually stepping into the men’s fashion.
