When is International Yoga Day observed?

When was first International Yoga Day observed?
The idea to practice Yoga in daily life was first proposed by PM Narendra Modi in his speech at the UN General Assembly in 2014. He signified Yoga as “an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition” and emphasised upon the “harmony between man and nature” through thr practice of Yoga. The proposal of PM Modi to follow Yoga made UN realise to give Yoga a dated observance which was then proposed to be 21st June. From 2014, it is observed every year on this date as International day of Yoga.
