1. Elon Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa on June 28, 1971. His father Errol Musk is an electromechanical engineer and his mother Maye Musk is a model & dietitian. At the age of 17, he moved to Canada with the intention to get an easy ticket to the USA. 

2. In an interview, Musk stated that he went through some terrible stuff in his childhood. He was regularly bullied by the boys at school and lectured by his father for hours at home.

3. He was so quiet in his childhood and doctors suspected that he was deaf. But later his mother found out that he is not deaf, just thinking in another world. 

4. One of his family members revealed that Musk can read the whole encyclopedia when he was only nine years old. He learned computer coding at the age of 12 and created a video game called Blaster that he sold to Office Technology magazine for $500.

5. During his college days, Elon Musk and his roommate Adeo Ressi had turned their rented house into a nightclub to pay their rent. However, Musk was not really like partying. 

Adeo Ressi in an interview, “There were some nights where I’d be like, ‘Where’s Elon?’ and I’d go up to his room and pound on the door, and he’s in there alone playing a video game.” He continued “And I’m like, ‘There are 500 people out there who need our attention!’ I’m not even sure that he was aware that the party was going on.”

6. In 1995, he started his first company Zip2 with his brother Kimble Musk. The company provide and licence online city guide software to a newspaper. In 1999, Compaq Computer paid more than $300 million for the company. This was the time when Musk became a millionaire at a very young age.

10. In an interview, Musk claimed that he would have named Tesla “Faraday” if they couldn’t secure the rights of the company. This name was after the great British scientist “Micheal Faraday”.
