Hyundai Motor India Limited on Friday announced the name of its upcoming SUV – Hyundai Exter. The new car will join the Hyundai SUV range which already includes models such as Venue, Creta, Alcazar, Kona, and Tucson.
In the most recent set of images, the company has teased the silhouette of the upcoming SUV, but it has not revealed any design details.
Company’s Statement
“We are pleased to announce the Hyundai EXTER, the name of our new SUV, which reflects the pulse of Gen Z buyers and provides them with a smart mobility solution to satisfy their wanderlust. Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India, stated, “The eighth model in our lineup with an SUV body style is the Hyundai EXTER.”
It will be the same “Casper” micro-SUV that has already been revealed internationally, as the image above suggests. However, for the Indian market, it will be called Exter.
The new Exter will be the eighth SUV model in the company’s lineup. It will join the Venue, Venue N Line, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, Kona Electric, and Ioniq 5 in the range.
Hyundai Exter Dimensions
The Exter is expected to measure 3,595 millimeters in length, 1,595 millimeters in width, and 1,575 millimeters in height, according to reports. It will be built on the same K1 platform as the Hyundai Santro, but its SUV stance will be achieved by making it slightly taller due to increased ground clearance.
In comparison, the Hyundai Santro is 3,610 millimeters long, 1,645 millimeters wide, and 1,560 millimeters tall. In any case, in contrast with Scene, it will be a lot more limited as the last option stands 3,995mm long.
Hyundai Exter Engine And Transmission
- A 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine from the Grand i10 Nios or a 1.1-liter four-cylinder unit from the Santro could power the new Exter when it goes on sale.
- The vehicle may have a 4-speed automatic gearbox and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Universally (Korea), it has been reported with a 1.0-liter normally suctioned powertrain and a 1.0-liter super petroleum motor. - It has a four-speed automatic transmission in its home market.
Hyundai Exter India launch
By the holiday season this year, it will be available for purchase in the Indian market. And will retail for between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
It will be an immediate opponent to Goodbye Punch miniature SUV that has been besting deals diagrams since its presentation in India.
