Shortly after upgrading its entire car, and SUV line-up to the recently enforced BS6 Phase II emissions norms, Hyundai India has now released another update for some of its models. However, this time around, it has added safety equipment in the Creta, Venue, and the i20 Hatchback.

Hyundai Creta gets the most feature updates
Hyundai’s famous moderate-size SUV, the Creta, is presently accessible with either a 1.5-liter diesel or a 1.5-liter petroleum motor post the RDE update. The 1.4-liter super petroleum motor has been ended and will be supplanted by the new 1.5-liter super petroleum from the Verna.
In addition, all Creta seats now feature three-point seatbelts, and the rear seats have 60:40 split seats and adjustable headrests. Hyundai has provided a two-step recline option for those who prefer to relax in the Creta’s rear seat. These updates are across all variations of the SUV.
Hyundai i20, Venue gets three-point seatbelts, adjustable headrests
Since its introduction in 2009, the Hyundai i20 has impressed Indian customers with its performance, comfort, and safety features. All seats now have 3-point seat belts and adjustable headrests in the rear as part of the most recent update from Hyundai. Again, these updates are the same for all versions.
Creta Highlights
- The Hyundai Scene sits beneath the Creta in the carmaker’s line-up and is a generally new model.
- The automaker had also given it the N-line treatment. The Venue’s updates are also limited to the rear seats, just like the Creta’s.
- Three-point safety belts across all forward-looking seats, 60:40 split back seats, 2-step leaning back seats, and movable back headrests are presently standard across all models.
Safety updates are done ahead of October 2023 deadline
The Indian government has been pushing for stricter safety standards in cars, including a standardized crash test rating for all cars sold in India, making six airbags mandatory on all cars and SUVs, and making three-point seat belts compulsory. This rule is expected to be enforced from October 2023.
Hyundai India SUV line-up: what’s next
Company has already begun a teaser campaign for its next launch in India, which will be the brand’s smallest SUV called the Exter. It will sit below the Venue and will rival the Tata Ounch and the Citroen C3.
