Erythritol is prepared by fermenting corn. It contains 70% of sweetness as that of sugar. After the intake, it is poorly metabolized by the body and comes out in the form of urine discharge. In addition to artificial consumption, the human body already produces some amount of erythritol naturally.

The clinical observations also state that when we consume a sweetened beverage with artificial sweetness the level of blood is also increased for some days. Hence, it is always advised by doctors to take a limited amount of artificial sweetness as it causes a lot of side effects to the body.

It is also explained by the professor of cardiology Dr. Mohit Gupta that intake of additional sweeteners can develop metabolic syndrome. So it is advised to limit the intake of sweeteners that are not naturally accepted by our bodies.
