What happened in the Lakhanbhaiya encounter case?
Ram Narayan Gupta alias Lakhan Bhaiya was a close associate of gangster underworld don Chhota Rajan. He was working for Chhota Rajan in Mumbai. Lakhan Bhaiya was picked up by Pradeep Sharma and his team from Vashi. Anil Bheda was also with him at that time. On the same day in the evening, there was an encounter with Lakhan Bhaiya at Nana-Nani Park in Versova, Mumbai. This incident happened in 2006. Now Pradeep Sharma has been sentenced to life imprisonment in this case.
In 2006, the Lakhan Bhaiya encounter case was investigated. After this, the SIT investigation revealed that the encounter was fake. 13 officers and policemen of the Mumbai Police Force were arrested in this case. Pradeep Sharma was also included in this. He was also suspended in 2008. But the court acquitted him. Pradeep Sharma is a 1983 batch officer and is scheduled to retire in 2020. But even before that he had accepted voluntary retirement and entered politics. But he failed in politics. Now he has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
