Hy-vee Company Cheese Products are Recalled Due to Salmonella Contamination

Hy-Vee company a retail store chain recalled its two cheese products due to the Salmonella contamination found in these two products. Other products included its package Cookies & Cream snack mix also contaminated with potential bacteria.

The news generated risk and concern among the consumers who had already bought and used Hy-vee products. Hy-Vee released the statement about the possible contamination when the manufacturer issued a warning about the Salmonella findings in their products. This announcement is released by the Food and Drug Administration USA (FDA).

Hy-Vee after knowing the bacterial contamination in its cheese-related products removed it from its stores such as Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Drugstore, Dollar Fresh Market, and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh convenience stores located in the Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and Nebraska South Dakota and Wisconsin. According to the FDA “In these locations, Hy-Vee  products arrived before the warning by the FDA and sold out to many of its customers.”

Hy-Vee products list that are being recalled are -: 12 Ounce Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Spread with a used-by date of 1 September.

The eight Ounce Hy-Vee whipped cream cheese spread with a use-by-date of 7 August and 14th August.

As well as 4 and 16-ounce packages of Hy-Vee Cookies & Cream Mix with certain use-by-dates.

One of the spokesperson told FOX that “these two recalls are being made after two suppliers issued larger recalls for their products around the country. The candy item is related to the public Palmer Candy recall yesterday.”

The candy items are related to the Palmer Candy recalled its products yesterday, they said that their suppliers of liquid coating have Salmonella contamination, according to the FDA.

According to the Hy-Vee store sources, “their Cream Cheese Spreader and Snack Mix products that are recalled have not caused any illness or adverse reactions but they are recalling their products out of caution. 

But after the FDA warnings, they urged their consumer to throw the products in the trash or it could be returned for a refund. Hy-Vee company operates 280 stores in the Mid-West.

How Salmonella Bacteria Affected Your Body?

Salmonella is a water-born bacteria that causes stomach infections in elderly, children, and immune-compromised patients. For normal patients, it causes nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. 

Salmonella’s common cause is Typhoid disease.
