Preparations are done to welcome the group of five females and 3 male cheetahs. A special cargo flight carrying the animals will bring them to Indian soil.

They will fly for almost 11 hours to reach India at 5:30 am on September 17. Earlier, it was planned that the flight will land in Jaipur from where cheetahs will transfer to Kuno National Park.

But there’s a change in plan and now the flight will directly land in Gwalior around 6 pm.

All 8 cheetahs will be wearing radio frequency satellite collars for continuous observation on them. The collar also serves as the identification and is given by Namibia Conservation Fund.

Kuno National Park Management will also get the ID and password of the collars. Later, cheetahs will get a name for identification purposes at the park’s management level.
