On Sunday, he said the same in front of the media and took the matter of Kashmir. Sharif said, “We want peace with India, but peace is not possible without resolution of the Kashmir Issue.”

So, the very first thing Sharif may do is to resolve the Kashmir issue with India. This can have both positive and negative impacts on India.

Secondly, India can expect new trade relations with Pakistan ever since the country revoked Article 370. This is because Pakistan is already going through the worst economic situation, improving which is Sharif’s first challenge and priority too.

Better Condition of Minorities

Only 1.6 percent of citizens in Pakistan are Hindus and their condition is not at all better. India can expect improvement in this aspect as Sharif has a soft approach toward Hindus. During the occasion of Holi, he wished all Hindus citing the country belongs to everyone irrespective of their religion. Moreover, he has openly condemned the attack on minorities in Pakistan.

Better Border Relations

Pakistan’s army chief General Bajwa recently talked about improving ties with India and resuming peace negotiations. Shehbaz Sharif is expected to be a key player here due to his close relationship with Bajwa. He is the favorite son of the army and if things are well, India can expect peace at the Line of Control.

Sharif’s induction as Pakistan’s PM will not only start a new chapter for India but also for the country’s population. He is seen as a pro-active, more tolerant, pro-development leader and is known for his business-friendly administrator.

Considering all this, there is a possibility that India and Pakistan will benefit from this new member.
