The Sunday night brought the biggest moments for the TV stars of Hollywood as the 73rd edition of prestigious awards was held on 19th September. Emmy Awards 2021 was both indoor-outdoor celebrations in LA where stars like Jason Sudeikis, Jean Smart, and Anya Taylor made an appearance.
The live ceremony was hosted by Cedric- the star comedian and actor. It was the first full-fledged event post-pandemic. Here’s who attended the event and the major winners from the award night.

5 Comedy series- Ted Lasso, Kenan, Shameless, Black-ish, and The Kominsky Method- were nominated in this category. The 46-years old actor and comedian Danial Jason Sudeikis won for his role in Ted Lasso.
The series also received an award for the Best Comedy Series of 2021. In the female category, Jean Smart was announced as an outstanding actress for the show- Hacks.
Outstanding Actress In Anthology Series

Anya Taylor who made heads turned on the red carpet in a gorgeous yellow gown last night was nominated for the series “The Queen’s Gambit”. However, other prominent actresses were also in the nomination giving a tough fight to Anya. Kate Winslet got the trophy defeating all in the Best Actress category for the show- Mare of Easttown.
Though Anya lost against her, “The Queen’s Gambit” was announced as the Best Anthology Series. I May Destroy You), WandaVision, and The Underground Railroad remained in the queue.

This was one of the toughest categories as both Emma Corrin and Olivia Colman were on the list of nominations for their outstanding performance in The Crown series. The 47-years old English actress, Olivia, came out as the winner for her role as Queen Elizabeth.
However, it was an easy win for Josh O’Connor in the Best Actor category. This was his first Emmy Award which he received for Prince Charles’s role in The Crown. The series won in few more categories:
• Tobias Menzies for best-supporting actor
• Gillian Anderson as best supporting actress
• The Crown- Best Drama series
