The most-awaited, race of Oscar2021 is finally over last night with no host and audience it went on-air from the Union Station and The Dolby Theatre of Los Angles. Unexpected winners and some record-breaking moments in the Oscars were seen on Sunday 25th April. We are highlighting right from the best acceptance speech to Oscar for best picture, of this prestigious 93rd Academy Awards.

Best Picture Oscar 2021 Winners

Nomadland, The Father, Minari, and a few more were in the Oscar2021 nominations for the best picture. And the Award goes to the Chloe Zhao directed movie Nomadland. Not just the movie won the Academy Award, lead actress Frances McDormand won in the category of Best Actress. This was her third Oscar award.

However, the other movies in the nominations also received the award but in different categories. Best Original Screenplay goes to Emerald Fennell for the movie ‘ Promising Young Woman.’

Daniel Kaluuya won the Best Supporting Actor award for the Oscar-nominated movie Judas and The Black Messiah.

Oscar For Best Picture In Short Film Category

The American 2D film, ” If Anything Happens I Love You” won the award for the best animated short film. The story is about the parents who lost their daughter in a terrorist attack.

Another film in the category of short film Live-action goes to “Two Distant Strangers.” The movie is a science-fiction drama that showcases a short story about the killing of Blacks in America.

Best Adapted Screenplay

Priyanka Chopra and Rajkumar Rao’s The White Tiger was also nominated in this category. It gave India’s hope to win the first Oscar for a movie however it shattered with the announcement. But, the American film “The Father” took the trophy.

Best International Feature Film

Thomas Vinterberg’s “Another Round” which describes the way to celebrate life got an Oscar in this category beating four movies from the list.

Documentary

The Guardian released a short documentary Colette was chosen as the winner of the 93rd Academy Award in the category of the short subject documentary. The Netflix original My Octopus Teacher, a movie about the relationship between a human and a wild octopus won for the Best Documentary Feature.

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet in which Dimple Kapadia was also seen won the award in the category of Best Visual Effects.

A Tribute To Lost Superstars Of Bollywood

In the Memorian section, oscar paid tributes to Bollywood celebrities who died recently. This includes Late Rishi Kapoor, Irffan Khan, and Sushant Singh Rajput. And the Hollywood stars Chadwick Boseman, Christopher Plummer, Ian Holm and many more were remembered for their contribution to the film industry.

  • Jamika Wilson and Mia Neal became the first black women to get Oscar award for makeup and hairstyling
  • Director of Nomadland, Chloe Zhao’s excitement gets double as she is the first woman of color to win the award and she is also the second female director who has ever get Oscar for directing a movie.
  • The heartbreaking moment was when the announcement for the Best Actor was made. Everyone was hoping it to be the late Chadwick Boseman, but it was Anthony Hopkins.
  • Youn Yuh-Jung also joined the category of history-making for her great role in the movie Minari.
  • Another best Oscar2021 moment was the acceptance speech of Daniel Kaluuya which went a little awkward ending up her mom saying ” What’s he talking about.”

This year Oscar was different from the previous years due to pandemic and like always it was a dream shattered for India as none of the nominations from India won the award.
