WhatsApp To Roll Out Telegram Like Feature; Know What Is It?

As per the reports, WhatsApp is working on a new ‘one-to-many’ feature to transmit information. The news is given by a live WhatsApp news tracker, WABetaInfo.

The portal highlighted that the Meta-owned platform is making the mentioned feature which is accessible for both iOS and Android. The tool used for it is known as ‘channels.’

Channel: A ‘Private Tool’

As per the website, a channel is a ‘private tool’ where the details such as phone numbers, and information related to joining a channel will not be shown publicly. 

Apart from this, messages in the channels will not be end-to-end encryption of private messaging, which carries on to be end-to-end encrypted

However, WhatsApp is planning to rename the Status tab and name it ‘Updates’ as channels will also be set down in that same section of the application, as per the report.

Telegram Channel is mostly used by celebrities, influencers, and enterprises to share information with a big number of audience. However, a group or community feature comes with a limit on the number of members.

At this time, the company has rolled out ‘Channels’ in the newest update on both Android beta v2.23.8.6 and iOS v23.8.0.75, as per WABetaInfo, the live update tracker. 

For other users, The feature is currently under process, and it will be issued in a future update of the Meta-owned application
