The centre of this powerful disaster was 22 km northwest of Midland, Texas, at a depth of 9 km. Initially, the intensity of this earthquake was reported as 5.3 and it was said to be the third most powerful earthquake in the state of Texas.
But later information came that it was an earthquake of 5.4 intensity and it is now the strongest earthquake in the history of Texas.
Officials from the National Earthquake Information Center in Colorado have said that so far no information about any damage has been received.
It looks like Texas is one of the favourite places for natural disasters like this. Because a similar-intensity earthquake occurred in western Texas last month.
It was on November 16 and contains about a 4.9 magnitude earthquake.
