Arvind Kejriwal’s political life has had a very controversial journey. He has been charged with several allegations and defamation cases. Here is the list of all controversies.

1. When Gyanendra Singh Kalyanwat committed suicide in an AAP rally in 2014. Kejriwal didn’t stop and continued his speech while his body was brought down the tree. This stunt of him went viral all over the country.

2. In 2016, Soni Mishra was sexually harassed by AAP activist Narela Sharad Chauhan. She confessed that when she approached Delhi CM, he advised her to compromise.

3. Aaj Tak ran a sting operation in which Kejriwal was trying to convince the MLAs of the Congress Party to join him. After that, he had lost the Lok Sabha election badly.

4. After claiming to follow the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi and Anna Hazare, he was charged with multiple IPC sections for violence, assault, disobedience, defamation, etc.

Arvind Kejriwal was born on 16 August 1968 in Siwani, Bhiwani district, Haryana . He is the first of three children of Govind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi. From childhood, he was a brilliant student and educated in north Indian towns like Sonipat, Hisar and Ghaziabad.

In 1985, he qualified IIT-JEE exam and secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 563. He graduated in Mechanical engineering from IIT Kharagpur. After graduation, Kejriwal was employed in Tata Steel in 1989 and was posted in Jamshedpur, Bihar. Then in 1995, he resigned from Tata steel and cleared Civil Services Examination.

Thereafter, Arvind Kejriwal joined Indian Revenue Services (IRS) at the post of Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax. In February 2006, he got frustrated from the corruption tactics of the government and resigned from his post. Afterwards, in 2011, he joined Anna Hazare for Indian Anti-corruption Movement.

But because of having no right to dictate terms to the elected personalities, he entered into politics. Kejriwal and other anti-corruption activists formally launched Aam Aadmi Party in 2012. They decided to contest Kejriwal against CM Sheila Dikshit for the position of Chief Minister of Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal was won by a huge margin of 25,864 votes and became the Chief Minister of Delhi in 2013. After 49 days he again resigned from his position due to the failure of the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly. He blamed INC and BJP for stalling anti-corruption legislation.

Then, he challenged PM Narendra Modi and contest against him from Varanasi in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. He lost the contest by a margin of 3,70,000 votes. Afterwards, he again stands from Delhi in 2015 and became Chief Minister of Delhi.
