We have seen a lot of bizarre inventions which never got real and thank god they failed but the recent one is very tempting. Taste The TV or a lickable TV screen is developed by a professor from Meiji University. According to him, this device can let you taste the food shown on the screen.
Sounds impossible and crazy but Homei Miyashita said it works for real. One of the students assisting him in the project has tried and tested the device. Here is how it works.

Yuki Hou, a 22 years old student from the University has shown a demonstration of the new prototype. She picked sweet chocolate from the icons shown on the TV screen. After a few minutes, the device sprayed a sample on the screen. She licked the screen which tastes like a chocolate sauce.

The device can imitate several flavors of food like pizza and more. The technology was developed only last year but it took time to execute it. Taste The TV works on a spray technology where the device creates a combination of flavors after getting a request.

There are 10 canisters inside the device where each one is having a different flavor to replicate the exact flavor of the food. It is then sprayed on a hygienic screen from where users can taste it.
Professor Miyashita said, he has developed the device along with his team of 30 students to allow people to taste food from the comfort of their homes. The lickable TV will be useful for cooks and sommeliers during online learning.
It is only the prototype and Miyashita is discussing with companies to release the product in the market. He said it would not be easy due to the high cost of the device which is around $875.
