Will FAA Create a Roadblock for Elon Musk SpaceX Starship Launch

Elon Musk SpaceX Starship Launch Approval delayed by FAA

Today Elon Musk tweeted that his company SpaceX Starship will be ready for the launch and waiting for the FAA (Federal Aviation Academy) license approval.

A SpaceX will be going to launch its first Starship spaceflight SN24 and BN7 porotype soon from its SpaceX’s Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas consisting of a Starship rocket sitting atop of “Super Heavy” first-stage booster with 33 rocket engines.

FAA issued a notice for the potential launch date of April 10th with backup dates of 11th and 12th.

But there is still a dilemma regarding the date of the launch of the SpaceX Starship rocket launch.

Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Pending License Approval Citing Environmental Issues

Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) issued a statement on 4th April regarding the license approval for the SpaceX starship launchpad.

In their statement, they said, “The FAA has not made a license determination for the SpaceX Starship Super Heavy operation, and the FAA’s Command Center planning notice should not be interpreted as an indicator that a determination to issue a license has been made or is forthcoming.”

One of the spokespersons who are familiar with the process of licensing said that FAA could grant the license for the Space X starship launch most probably on Monday.

But licensing process is near completion but could take longer due to environmental compliance review.

Eric Berger, an acclaimed science author and Senior Space Editor at Ars Technica talked about the Space Starship launch on Twitter he mentioned that -:

  • Elon Musk’s plan for the launch date of April 10 is semi-real.
  • There is a risk that FAA will file a civil suit for environmental reasons at the last minute.

FAA Operations Plan Advisory statement issued on April 8th citing some environmental and weather issues, there is a possibility that they’ll make a launch attempt on 17th April.

Elon Musk SpaceX Starship SN24 and BN7 prototypes are ready for launch at Boca Chica, Texas. The BN7 super heavy booster prototype was placed on the orbital launch site.

If it is successful it’ll again set a new stone for a totally reusable super-heavy launch system that will send to the Moon and Mars.

The SpaceX Starship will open the door for future space travel on the moon as it promises to send regular payloads and crews to the moon and deliver Starlink V2 satellites to orbit.

Elon Musk’s future vision is to settle a colony of humans on Mars, which will be going to true in near future with the success of this satellite launch.
