McCullum hit ten boundaries and thirteen sixes, displaying an exceptional batting performance that left the Bangalore attack helpless. It was undoubtedly an unforgettable start to the IPL for McCullum and KKR alike.

Anil Kumble

There is an old saying, “Old is gold,” and former Indian bowler Anil Kumble proved this in the IPL 2022.

Anil Kumble, the esteemed former leg-spinner of India, exhibited a phenomenal performance during the IPL 2009 clash between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Cape Town. Playing for RCB, Kumble delivered an impeccable spell that produced astounding figures of 5 for 5.

Despite RCB’s modest first innings score of 133 for 8, Kumble’s remarkable display led the team to a victory as RR’s batting collapsed, getting all out for 58 in just 15.1 overs, thanks to Kumble’s brilliance on the field.

In a final display of prowess, Kumble outsmarted opposing captain and leg-spinner Shane Warne (3), ultimately having him stumped. Munaf Patel (0) attempted a swiped shot towards long-on, which was easily caught, and Kumble secured his coveted five-wicket haul when Kamran Khan’s (3) slog landed as a catch behind the wickets.
