Skoda Kodiaq 2025 Launching in India on April 17: New-Gen SUV Offers 14.86 kmpl

Skoda Auto India has revealed the second generation model of the premium full-size SUV Skoda Kodiaq. The company will launch the full-size SUV in the Indian market on April 17 in two trims – Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K). The SUV will be launched with a new exterior and interior design. It will have features like Advanced Driving Assist System (ADAS) along with 9 airbags for safety. The company claims that the car will give a mileage of 14.86kmpl.

The design of Skoda Kodiaq has been upgraded. It has a new design hexagonal ‘butterfly’ grille, which has been increased in size. It has been given thinner split matrix LED headlights with connecting LED strips on both sides. Above the grille is a sculpted bonnet. Here the updated Skoda logo is given in matte dark chrome. At the same time, a bumper with C-shaped elements and a thin air dam is given below.

The side profile of Skoda Kodiaq features 18-inch alloy wheels, whose design varies according to the variant. It has a silver touch on the C-pillar. At the rear, it has connected LED tail lamps. The length of the SUV has been increased by 61mm from 4.69 metres to 4.75 metres, but the wheelbase (2.71 metres) and width (1.8 metres) remain the same as before.

The cabin of the 2025 Kodiaq is all new. It has a new layered dashboard and a larger 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also has physical controls that are multifunctional, meaning they can be used for multiple purposes including climate control and infotainment.

The gear selector has now been shifted to the steering column and there are multiple storage spaces under the centre console. There are two cabin colour themes: Sportline with Black and Selection L&K with Black/Tan.

In the global market, the Skoda Kodiaq comes with four engine options. It includes a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid, a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2-litre diesel engine. In India, it will be offered with a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine. This engine generates 204PS of power and 320Nm of peak torque. For transmission, it has been tuned with a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

The car will come with an all-wheel drive drivetrain. The company claims that with this engine, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq will run 14.86 kilometers in one liter of petrol.

Apart from the 12.9-inch touchscreen, the 2025 Kodiaq will also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three- Zone climate control, two wireless phone chargers, multi-colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions, and a 13-speaker Canton sound system are provided.

For the safety of the passengers, it has been provided with safety features like 9 airbags, front and rear parking sensors with 360 degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), park assist and electronic parking brake with auto hold. Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) will not be provided in the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq.

The new Skoda Kodiaq can be launched in the Indian market on 17 April 2025. It can be launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 45 lakh. It can compete with Jeep Meridian and Hyundai Tucson in the Indian market.
