The Realme 16 5G has officially launched in Vietnam, and this one is clearly not trying to be subtle. At a time when most phones still struggle to cross the 5,000mAh mark, Realme has dropped a massive 7,000mAh battery into a surprisingly slim body and wrapped it with serious durability credentials.

This isn’t just another mid-range refresh. It feels like Realme is openly challenging rivals by saying battery anxiety should no longer exist in 2026. And that’s a bold and welcome move.

Launched on January 29, the Realme 16 5G is now available in Black Cloud and White Swan colours, with sales already live in Vietnam. An India launch hasn’t been confirmed yet, but given Realme’s track record, it feels more like a “when” than an “if”.

Realme 16 5G price

In Vietnam, Realme 16 5G pricing starts at:

  • VND 11,490,000 (around ₹40,000) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant
  • VND 12,490,000 (around ₹44,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model

That pricing puts the phone in an interesting spot. It’s not cheap, but it clearly justifies the task with hardware that leans more “flagship-lite” than typical mid-range.

If Realme manages aggressive India pricing, this device could seriously shake up the ₹35,000–₹45,000 segment.

Realme 16 5G display

The Realme 16 5G sports a 6.57-inch Full HD+ flexible AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling. On paper, that’s already solid. In practice, what stands out is brightness.

Realme claims:

  • 1,000 nits normal brightness
  • 1,400 nits in high brightness mode
  • A wild 4,200 nits peak brightness

That’s flagship territory. Add DT-Star D+ glass protection and a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio, and you’ve got a panel that should perform well outdoors, a real pain point for many phones in this range.

Realme 16 5G performance

The Realme 16 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo (6nm) chipset paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

This isn’t a performance monster and Realme isn’t pretending it is. Instead, the focus is clearly on efficiency, thermals and everyday reliability. A 6,050mm² vapor chamber cooling system helps keep sustained performance stable.

For most users, social media, multitasking, casual gaming, camera use, this setup is more than enough.

Realme 16 5G cameras

Camera hardware on the Realme 16 5G is straightforward:

  • 50MP primary rear camera with autofocus
  • 2MP monochrome sensor
  • 50MP front-facing camera

The inclusion of a 50MP selfie camera is genuinely refreshing. Realme is clearly betting big on creators and video callers. Camera modes include Night, Portrait, Cinematic, Dual-View Video, Slow Motion and AI-based editing tools.

This isn’t a camera-centric phone, but it looks dependable, and that matters more to everyday users.

Realme 16 5G battery and durability

Let’s be blunt: the 7,000mAh battery is the headline act. The Realme 16 5G supports 60W wired fast charging and reverse wired charging, all while weighing just 183 grams and measuring 8.1mm thick. That’s impressive engineering.

Even more surprising are the protection ratings:

  • IP66
  • IP68
  • IP69
  • IP69K

This phone can handle dust, immersion and even high-pressure water jets. In a market where durability is often marketing fluff, Realme is putting serious certifications on the table.

Realme 16 5G feels like a battery king in waiting

The Realme 16 5G doesn’t try to win spec wars everywhere, and that’s exactly why it works. It focuses on what users actually complain about: battery life, brightness, durability and long-term reliability.

If Realme brings this phone to India with smart pricing, it could easily become one of the most practical and talked-about smartphones of 2026. For once, hype and real-world usefulness seem to be on the same side.
