Coronavirus Update: New Zealand reported its first case pf Coronavirus on Friday. The patient was reported to have returned from Iran and is 60-year old.
The patient tested positive for Covid-19 and is now being treated at Auckland City Hospital.
Although the ministry said:
“Although we have our first case of Covid-19, the chances of community outbreak remain low,”
The public health officials are tracing for any medical history for the patient’s health.
The patient travelled in the Emirates Airlines that started off from Tehran and stopped at Bali, Indonesia and ended with Auckland on Feb 26.
New Zealand was going to impose restrictions on flights coming from Iran where the death toll has touched 26.
Australia has also confirmed 24 positive cases of Coronavirus.
