New Govt Guidelines Issued, Know What Is Allowed During The Coronavirus Lockdown

The first phase of Coronavirus lockdown ended yesterday and PM Modi announced Lockdown 2.0. The second phase of lockdown will continue until May 3. Today govt-issued some new guidelines which PM Modi had mentioned yesterday while addressing the nation.

The Govt Release Said:

“consolidated revised guidelines have been issued, delineating the prohibited activities across the country, activities allowed in containment zones, and select permitted activities allowed from April 20, 2020, in the rest of the country,”

Further Added:

“The objective of the revised guidelines is to consolidate the gains achieved during the 1st phase of lockdown and further slow down the spread of COVID 19 and at the same time provide relief to farmers and labour and daily wage earners,”

Let’s have a look at the things that we are allowed to do during the second phase of lockdown.

  • Carrying Goods: Essential or nonessential all goods can be transported.
  • Agriculture: Farmers can collect agricultural products, agricultural marketing can take place directly from the notified mandis and centralised and decentralised markets.
  • Marine Life: Fishes, animal husbandry, Poultry farming, the supply of milk and milk products, rubber tea and coffee plantations.
  • Coal Oil and mineral production are permitted.
  • The industries that have been opertaing in the rural areas, irrigation projects, road construction, food processing industries, industrial and rural projects working will work under MNREGA. Priorities will be given to irrigation and water conservation. Rural Common Service Centres have also been allowed to operate.
  • Banks, ATM’s, insurance companies, capital and debt markets as notified by SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India).
  • Industrial establishments and Manufacturing industries with access control have been permitted to operate under Special Economic Zones (SEZ’s), Export Oriented Units(EOU’s). Social distancing should be taken care of while operating.
  • Manufacturing of IT hardware and other essential goods and packaging are also allowed.
  • E-Commerce activities, IT and IT-enabled services, call and data centres that involve govt activities will be functional. Online and distance learning programs have also been permitted.
  • Social and health sector activities will be operational
  • Important Local, state and central govt offices will also be open with the required strength.
