After Lockdown Extension, PM Modi To Chair Cabinet Meeting At 7 Pm Today

After the extension of lockdown till 3 May, A meeting of the Union Cabinet is set to be held on Wednesday evening sharp at 7:00 pm at the Pm Narendra Modi’s Lok Kalyan Residence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation yesterday, declared that the country would expand the lockdown to stop Coronavirus cases. Also, new guidelines to be provided to follow amid the second phase of the lockdown.

Punjab, Odisha, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Puducherry have already declared the extension of lockdown.

Pm Modi’s Lockdown 2.0 Speech

During his address to the nation, PM Modi said, “I know the kinds of difficulties the people of India have been tolerating for days to protect the country. You have faced difficulties with food, work, but you are still resolved to fight.”

“With fast action and early lockdown, India has done much better than the bigger nations. The figures from these developed nations show that we are doing much better.”

“We have arranged more than 1 lakh beds to curb the spread of coronavirus. These arrangements are being improved and upgraded to treat patients.”

“The government will issue detailed guidelines in this regard. While making new guidelines, we have kept in mind the interests of the poor and daily wage workers. Harvesting of Rabi crops is also underway. Central Govt and state Govts are working together to ensure that farmers face minimal problems,” He further added.

So far, India’s total figure of confirmed cases has reached 10, 363, and 339 fatalities.
