The 21-day lockdown to stop the spread of Covid-19 ends today. When PM Narendra Modi addresses the nation today at 10 am, he is anticipated to talk regarding a possible extension of the lockdown. So far, The total number of positive corona cases in India has breached 10,453, and death toll 358, as per the Worldometer.

With more than 1,985 cases, Maharashtra has the biggest number of confirmed cases in the country, while MP has the highest death rate so far among all Indian states.

PM Narendra Modi begins his address of the nation as the complete lockdown of the country ends today after 21 days.

He said in a live video:

I know the kinds of difficulties the people of India have been tolerating for days to protect the country. You have faced difficulties with food, work, but you are still resolved to fight.” 

PM Modi remembers BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. 

PM Modi says India acted very early to control the spread of coronavirus problem.

“Screenings started even before India reported any Covid-19 cases,” says Modi,  “We didn’t wait for the problem to get out of hands”. He further added.

Narendra Modi says,

“With fast action and early lockdown, India has done much better than the bigger nations. The figures from these developed nations show that we are doing much better.”

While addresing the nation he also said that we have arranged more than 1 lakh beds to curb the spread of coronavirus. These arrangements are being improved and upgraded to treat patients.

Also he said;

Make sure that we take special care of senior citizens in our households. We must follow lockdown and social distancing guidelines. Wear masks.

Well, the detailed guidelines on extended lockdown will be released tomorrow. Hope, the new guidelines would focus on giving some relief to the poor people.
