Team India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has pulled out of the squad for the impending two-match Test series against South Africa as he has flown back home due to personal reasons. BCCI has named KS Bharat, who is currently in South Africa as India’s ‘A’ skipper, as his replacement.
The development comes just two days after fast bowler Mohammed Shami was ruled out of the contest owing to his ankle injury.
Ishan Kisan Requested BCCI To Be Released
Ishan Kishan has mentioned the BCCI to be let out of the forthcoming Test series against South Africa referring to individual reasons. Since then, the wicketkeeper has been dropped from the Test squad. The men’s choice council has named KS Bharat as a substitution,” BCCI explained.

India Will Play Two Test Against SA
The first Test between India and the South Africa is scheduled for December 26–30, 2024, and the second is scheduled for January 3–7, 2024. The first Test will be held at SuperSport Park in Centurion, and the second will be held in Newlands.
