Is 'X' aka Twitter Really Down? Many Users Report Issues. Here's What We Know So Far

On Tuesday night, X, formerly known as Twitter, apparently experienced a global service outage, with multiple users experiencing issues with the website and app.

X Go Down After Algorithmic Code Change

Two days after Elon Musk, the platform's owner, declared his intention to make the algorithmic code for X's news feed and advertising systems public in an effort to boost transparency, the disturbances were seen.According to Musk, the code that explains how users are recommended posts will be made publicly available and updated regularly.

Many Indian Users Experienced This Issue

Around 7.43 p.m. IST, over 2,000 Indian customersreported issues, according to the outage tracking website Downdetector. According to the data, 41% of users reported having trouble using the mobile app, and 46% of users had trouble accessing the website. 13% more reported problems with server connections.

The disruption was especially noticeable in large locations, such as Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Indore,Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Mumbai, according to Downdetector's outage map.

More Than 20,000 Complaints Came From the US!

Interestingly, over 20,000 complaints in the US were simultaneously collected by the outage tracker. In the US, 25% of users had trouble accessing the website, 16% had interruptions with the Feed or Timeline, and 59% of users reported problems with the app.

Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, and a number of other locations were shown on the Downdetector outage map as being impacted by the reported interruption.

Users' Reports: These Issues 

• According to reports, users had issues with basic features, including direct messaging, posting, and timeline loading.
• Early in the day, outages started, and as more customers encountered access issues, they peaked.
• X had not released an official comment regarding the outage's cause at the time of reporting.
• Although the details of this occurrence are still unknown, outages on platforms like X may be caused by technical malfunctions, server problems, or issues with the underlying internet infrastructure.

Users Showed Their Outrage On the Internet

Many people vented their annoyance on other sites as word of the outage spread. Some others shared amusing jokes about being blocked off from the outside world on Twitter.

X, aka Twitter users vented their annoyance on the platform as the purported outage progressed. "Every time X goes down, I am compelled to go do productive stuff in the real world, Elon, pls solve this," tweeted user @ingelramdecoucy.

In response to the interruption, BTS Charts Daily's X account tweeted, "X IS DOWN NOOO."

Another user, X @YashasGuneria, highlighted the technical issues in a tweet directed at X’s team and Elon Musk: “Is it me or is X down? There is a bug on X where users can not see posts, live feeds are paused, and facing some disruptions Please look into this @xai @elonmusk @nikitabier.”
