International Dance Day 2021: The Best Art To Cheer Your Life

It is said that Dance is the “Best way to release your emotions” and when this art form is celebrated officially it becomes the extreme source of happiness. International Dance is celebrated every year on 29th April to motivate the people for dance participation and education. Several events are held worldwide to commemorate this day officially. In this corona pandemic let’s encourage people to recover from the negative atmosphere and tensions by dancing on their favourite tunes.

Who started International Dance Day and Why is It Celebrated?

International Dance was initiated by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), the main partner of the performing arts of UNESCO. It was created in 1982 and decided to celebrate 29th April as International Dance Day by  dance committee of ITI to mark the birth anniversary of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), who was a creator of modern ballet

According To ITI, this day is observed with the objective to, “celebrate dance, revel in the universality of this art form, cross all political, cultural and ethnic barriers, and bring people together with a common language – dance, And every year a message from an outstanding choreographer or dancer is circulated throughout the world.” The author of message is selected by International Dance Committee and Executive Council of ITI.
