IFFM 2021 Winners: Pankaj Tripathi Gets Special Award, Vidya And More In The List

Australia is celebrating the Film festival right now and it’s an overwhelming movement for the B-Town. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne has announced the winners in the category of Best actors, directors, Short and Feature film on 20th August during a virtual event. Best Actor And Actress

The award for best actor in the web series category goes to the Family Man 2 actor Manoj Bajpayee. Samantha Akkineni won the award in the female category for the series.

Expressing happiness, the actress thanked series director Raj Nidimoru for the role.

Best Male And Female Actors In Feature Film

In the feature film category, actress Vidya Balan gets the award for her solo movie Sherni.

South actor Suriya Sivakumar won in the same category for his movie Soorarai Pottru.

Best Web Series

The popular web series Mirzapur grabs the IFFM 2021 award for its second season.

The series was jointly directed by Gurmeet Singh and Mihir Desai. The first season of the show was directed by Karan Anshuman along with Singh.

Diversity In Cinema Award

The IFFM 2021 theme was ‘Diversity through Cinema’ and in this category, Pankaj Tripathi has received the honor.

The actor was last seen in Kriti Sanon’s Mimi for which the duo got huge appreciation.

Best Feature Film

No Bollywood movie won in this category but the Tamil drama Soorarai Pottru receives the award of Best Feature Film.

These were the major winners of IFFM 2021. However, the Australian film festival also honors short films and documentaries. Here’s the list of winners in other categories:

• Fire In The Mountains is the Best Indie Film
• Shut Up Sona is Best Documentary Film
• Sanal Kumar Sasidharan gets the Disruptor Award

Director Anurag Basu is honored with Best Director at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2021. Writer and director, Prithvi Konanur receives a special mention in the category.
