Hyundai Ioniq 6, the chief electric vehicle of Hyundai has gained an achievement by taking the title of the 2023 World Car of the Year 2023, at the New York International Auto Show. 

Apart from this award, the car is also awarded the World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year honors, showing its unmatched quality in the industry.

In addition to the Hyundai Ioniq 6’s performance, other vehicles were also titled at the New York International Auto Show. Following is the list of cars getting awarded at the Show:

  • Lucid Air- 2023 World Luxury Car Award
  • Kia EV6 GT- 2023 World Performance Car Award
  • Citroen C3– 2023 World Urban Car

These three cars were picked up from the list of top three rivals, which got unveiled in March 2023. 

However, Hyundai has not made it clear whether Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be launched in India or not, the vehicle was shown at the Delhi Auto Expo at the beginning of this year, taking vital attention. 

The Jury Of The World Car Of The Year Award

The winners of the World Car of the Year award were picked up by a panel of 100 automotive journalists across 32 countries. To pass for acknowledgment for the award, vehicles must have a production volume of a minimum of 10,000 units every year.

The price should be low from the luxury-car level in the primary market, and the accessibility should be in at least two major markets and two different continents in between January 1, 2022, and March 30, 2023. 

The markets which are considered are China, Europe, India, Japan, Korea, Latin America, and the United States.
