Google may add Apple Face ID competitor in Android Q

Google may add Apple Face ID competitor in Android Q: Even though Android OEMs offer face scanning-based authentication support, Android does not provide any native hardware support. Nevertheless, this may change soon.

At XDA Developers early testers have discovered a secret code in the next-gen Android Q which allows secure facial recognition hardware.

Testers have seen several strings and several ways, classes, and fields related to facial recognition in the framework.

With the help of native hardware support for facial recognition, to customize the feature, OEMs will not be required.

As per the latest technology news, in addition to authentication, this feature will probably support payment authorization and app sign in too.
