Goa Approves The Controversial Drug "Ivermectin " For Covid Treatment

Goa Health Minister approved the use of controversial drug Ivermectin for the treatment of covid patients all above 18.

India got a new drug for the covid treatment in patients and Goa is the first to make it compulsory for all adults. The reason behind is the report of countries like Japan, U.K., Spain, and Italy that says, "Use of Ivermectin 12 mg can significantly improve the recovery time in patients."

Considering this in the recent announcement, the Health Minister of Goa says all above 18 will get Ivermectin irrespective of their symptoms. Read further to know more about this controversial drug.

But the most concerning thing is the use of medicine. Mr. Rane said all the adults including those above 18 will receive the medicine irrespective of their symptoms. This also includes people who have no symptoms.

Ivermectin Only Reduces Severity

As a response to this announcement, there is a possibility that the state may face a shortage of Ivermectin 12 mg as in the case of Remdisiver.

The drug is not suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Furthermore, the drug is not safe for those having allergies, brain issues, asthma, or bleeding disorders. It can also increase complications if taken along with certain medicines. Thus, a doctor’s consultation is necessary before using it.
