On May 4 Elon Musk had his first baby with Canadian singer Grimes. The news was all over the internet but what caught the attention was the baby’s unusual name.
Elon announced his baby’s name X Æ A-12 and since then twitter was filled with memes. Everyone was wondering about the story and pronunciation of this wired name. In a recent podcast, the Tesla chief revealed how to pronounce the baby’s name.

“So, X is just the letter X, Æ is pronounced as Ash. And, A-12 is my contribution and it is just pronounced as A-12.”
Stop assuming and start pronouncing him as “X Ash A Twelve” This is the final pronunciation of little Musk.
Grimes also took it to twitter and explain the logic behind the name:
“X, the unknown variable. Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence). A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favourite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent + (A=Archangel, my favorite song) (metal rat).”
And Musk corrected her in the comment saying it is A-71 and not 17.
