CBSE Class 10th Paper Reaches Lok Sabha, Authorities Apologize For ‘Misogynist’ Passage

Today’s Lok Sabha session highlighted an issue related to education and students which led CBSE to apologize and drop a question. Class 10th’s English question paper had a passage pointing towards women and showing them in a bad light. As soon as the matter reached Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi, she did not delay in taking action against CBSE.

The question paper had a comprehension passage that shows women as a medium of formal obedience to children. But due to the independence and freedom, they have got in the past few years, this has the opposite impact on children.

Upon this, the Chief of Delhi Commission For Women took action against CBSE saying “It’s unacceptable.” She said such articles promote anti-feminism and also deeply impact children.

A deadline was given to the CBSE after this within which they were asked to remove the passage and given their feedback. The matter did not end here and reached the Parliament when Sonia Gandhi put the matter in front of Lok Sabha speaker.

CBSE board’s controller of examinations has issued a letter apologizing for the same and ensuring that students will not lose marks for the question.
