Beating retreat ceremony at Wagah Border is the main highlight during Republic day every year. Unfortunately, this year the ceremony won’t take place.
According to BSF sources, the flag-lowering ceremony will be performed on daily timings. However, no visitor is allowed to view the beating retreat ceremony.

However, on Independence day, the ceremony took place at Attari-Wagah Border but spectators were not allowed then as well.
Beating retreat ceremony is India’s old tradition performed by the soldiers of Border Security Force on the Wagah-Border. It is a formal ending of the celebration of Republic Day during which the flag is lowered down before the sunset.
