Bhopal News: A Blind Woman Allegedly Raped In Her Home Amid Lockdown

Bhopal. A rape case has come to light with a 53-year-old female bank officer in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The woman is visually impaired (blind) and lives in the Shahpura area. The woman was alone at the time of the incident. Her husband and family are trapped in Rajasthan due to the Coronavirus lockdown.

Information Of The Incident

Giving information about the incident, Bhopal ASP Sanjay Sahu said that the police had visited the spot and a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the IPC. The investigation is underway. At present, the police have registered a case against the unknown person.

Police said the blind woman was living alone in her house. Meanwhile, at around 3.30 pm, an unknown person crossed the balcony of the woman’s home and entered and threatened the woman and raped her.

As the woman was blind, she could not recognize the accused. At the same time, after the incident, the woman reached the police station and told the police the incident. After the complaint of the woman, the special team has reached the spot and collected all the evidence, including fingerprints. The police have started searching for the accused.

At present, the police have doubted anything, and they are also being questioned. The manner in which the incident has been committed. Police suspect that there may be someone around the woman’s house who is responsible for the crime.

Inspector Chandrabhan Patel, in-charge of Shahpura police station, said that on the complaint of the visually impaired woman, the police had registered a case against the unnamed accused in the relevant sections of the IPC. Police is looking for the accused.
