New Delhi: Friday, The Union Science and Technology Minister has announced that the Institute of Kerala develops a cost-effective test kit for covid-19.
Within 2 hours the kit can give results. Moreover, it can detect the presence of a virus in 10 minutes.
Furthermore, the kit can test 30 samples at a time, he added in his tweet. Also, in his tweet, Vardhan said that this test kit of India would be one of the first few kits of the world.

As per the Department of S&T, this test kit can reduce the cost. Now, each test will cost Rs 1,000 to the lab. Such a development is effective in fighting against the coronavirus without putting much burden on the economy.
The Insitute is of National’s importance and is working under the Department of Science and Technology. The Institute is working at the forefront in the fight against the virus. The name of the kit is Chitra GeneLAMP-N, which can detect the N-gene of SARS-CoV-2.

Also, the kit is tested, and the department has found it 100 percent accurate. Its results match those by RT-PCR. Now, ICMR is informed about the equipment, and once it approves the kit, the use of kit can begin. The lab across the nation will get the test facility once it gets approval.
