Bajaj Auto had last year announced plans to launch a CNG-powered motorcycle, marking its entry into the CNG segment. Pictures have surfaced somewhere in the testing phase, indicating an early launch. And maybe it will come in front of you in the coming year.
CNG bike cylinder setup
Like cars, CNG bikes will feature compact CNG cylinders. Which will be located under the seat for setup of the cylinder, which will have a CNG valve for filling fuel. Additionally, a petrol fuel tank will also be included for emergency use. So that you can do it when CNG runs out,
Switching between petrol and CNG in a CNG bike
The bike will have a switchgear-mounted blue switch for seamless switching between petrol and CNG modes, similar to the setup seen in CNG cars.
Expected looks and features of the CNG bike
The upcoming CNG bike is expected to have the following features:
- Handlebar with knuckle guard
- hill and tow gear shifter
- Leg guard at the front and saree guard at the back
- upswept exhaust
- big tire hugger
- mid-set footpeg
- digital instrument cluster
- Telescopic suspension is provided in the front and a mono shock absorber is in the rear.
- Disc braking setup is provided in the front and drum braking setup in the rear.
- Expected volume and price
Bajaj Auto may launch its first CNG bike in the 100 or 110 cc segment. Catering to the needs of its customers, it is expected to be priced up to Rs 1 lakh. Or it could be even less than this. However, concrete information will be available only after the official announcement from the company.
