Tata Motors is preparing to launch the facelifted model of its popular electric SUV, the Punch EV, in India on February 20. The Punch EV was first launched in India in January 2024. Now, two years later, it will receive its first major update.
The new facelifted model will be largely inspired by the petrol (ICE) version of the Punch, which was updated last month. The new Punch EV will feature luxury features such as a 12.3-inch screen, connected LED taillights, and ventilated seats.
For safety, features like 6 airbags and a 360° camera will be standard. For the first time, the car may also feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The new Punch EV is expected to have an ex-showroom starting price between ₹11 and ₹15 lakh.

In terms of design, the Tata Punch EV facelift will be introduced with a refreshed look:
- Front Profile: It will feature an updated front grille and connected LED DRLs. The front charging lid will remain in the same position.
- Side Profile: The car will have newly designed aerodynamic alloy wheels, which help in increasing the range.
- Rear Profile: The biggest change at the rear will be the connected LED taillights, giving it a look similar to the petrol model. The bumper has also been given a new touch.

Inside the cabin, the company has focused on technology and comfort.
- Dashboard and Display: It may get a new, larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
- Seating and Sunroof: New seat upholstery and ventilated seats may be offered for a premium feel. It will also feature an electric sunroof.
- Steering: Tata's new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo.

Mechanically, no major changes are expected in the new Punch EV. It is likely to retain the two battery options as before.
- This EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.5 seconds and has a top speed of 140 km/h. This EV comes with two e-drive options: a 120 bhp, 190 Nm torque version and an 80 bhp, 114 Nm torque version.
- The car will come with two battery pack options—25 kWh (mid-range) and 35 kWh (long-range). The mid-range trim offers a range of 315 km on a single charge, while the long-range version offers a range of 421 km (MIDC).
- The standard version gets only a 3.3 kW AC charger, while the long-range version gets a 7.2 kW AC charger along with 50 kW DC fast charging.
Tata Punch EV Facelift Safety Features
ADAS Technology: The Punch EV may feature a radar and camera-based ADAS system, including features like automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist.
Standard Safety: Features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera will make it one of the safest electric cars in its segment.
