Facebook, Instagram deny DDoS attack behind global outage

Facebook and related services, including Instagram and WhatsApp, faced global obstacles in the past 24 hours. With the services back again, the social networking giant has disagreed any DDoS (denial of service) attacks as the reason behind the outage.

As per the reports, while accepting the outage, Facebook confirmed that this issue is not associated with the DDOS attack. Such an issue occurs when an attacker chokes a network with traffic to overload and shut it down.
